Alright let’s get to the second part of the list.
7. Performance Gear
It used to be that we’d train in cotton and think nothing of it. And there’s nothing wrong with wearing a natural fibre such as this. But we have options. Lots of them.
For the ladies you can’t go wrong with Lululemon. And for the guys anything with a breathable performance fabric fabric works just great. Know that these fabrics don’t shrink, as cotton does, so size them to fit rather than a little extra room.
8. Quality Socks
Socks for Christmas? Are you kidding me?
No actually I’m totally serious. One of the best ways to get more enjoyment and potentially more performance from your sport is to invest in some high quality socks.
Think about going skiiing or snowboarding and how much better your boots fit when you put on a proper sock. No more bunching up at all the wrong spots. No more numb or frozen toes. No more socks that got wet and then froze.
Yeah they can be pricey but that’s why it makes sense to buy them for someone else for Christmas.
9. A Good Read
I love to read. And I especially to find a great book in my field or something that I think will benefit all of you.
For the bookworm on your list try the following:
Born to Run – by Christopher McDougall
Gourmet Nutrition – Dr. John Berardi
Eat Stop Eat – Brad Pilon
4 Hour Body – Timothy Ferris
Obviously there are lots more options here. If you can recommend something good let me know in the comments section.
10. Ear Buds
Many people like to train with music. But you don’t want to have to crank your music so loud to tune out background noise that you suffer hearing loss as a result.
Pick up some quality noise-reduction ear buds for your special someone. They double as your headset whenever you take a flight with satellite tv.
11. An Online Fitness Program
Ok I have to be completely honest here. I am trying to sell you something. But guess what? Or stuff works and gets great results.
And there’s a bonus in it for you…

Not a fitness professional? Not a problem. Travel with us to one in Seattle, LA or Long Beach next year. We can attend the sessions together, go for dinners as a group, plan some fun things to do during down times (roller coasters, hockey games, shopping) and of course get in some great workouts in foreign locales.
Send me an email if you’re interested in more details on this.
Well that’s it folks. Hopefully I’ve made your lives a little easier this time of year. And remember to take some for yourself and make the most of the Christmas season.
